Woven Stories

Featured in Curator Space's Ones to Watch 2022 exhibition

In order to encourage second-hand shopping and help reduce fast fashion, I wanted to promote pre-loved clothing as something that is very valuable as it has memories and stories woven into it.

I created a fabric book of clothing that was no longer fit to be worn and embroidered the personal stories that are attached to them. I also embroidered a shirt with its story and I imagine these working together in an exhibition to promote second-hand shopping and to get people to think more carefully prolonging the life of their clothing. The clothing/ stories are bound by gold thread - the value runs through them.
